The Cambodia Startup Handbook was released today at the Demo Cambodia event hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in Phnom Penh. This is the first publication written specifically for technology startups in Cambodia that addresses the legal, tax, and intellectual property issues founders and investors confront.
The publication is co-written by Sreypeou Chaing, Junro Binag, Pheng Thea, and David Haskel of the professional alliance Cambodia Startup Advisers.
"Startups need to take the law seriously," said keynote speaker David Haskel. "Working informally will inevitably catch up with you, whether in the form of frightened investors or a tax department letter. We've written this book to assist Cambodian entrepreneurs navigate these issues."
According to a recent survey, six out of ten founders reported that it was difficult or impossible to obtain legal and tax advice for enterprises. The manual satisfies this need with chapters on incorporation, labor law, startup financing, tax fundamentals and incentives, and the entire spectrum of intellectual property topics.
The publication is available as an e-book through Cambodia Startup Advisers, Amazon, and Kindle.
